Sleep Update

It must have just been a bad week for Ryan because he is doing just fine now sleeping in his own bed. Thank goodness!! Jimmie's theory is that it was getting too cold in his room. So, we have since made sure to dress him in his warm pj's and keep the heat up. It seems to be working so far!

Moving Up

Today was Ryan's first official day in the toddler room at daycare. Not sure if they really do anything different in there than the class he has been in, but we're happy about it.

Ryan is almost 22 months now and I am thinking this must be a normal age for sleep distubances because he has suddenly made a habit of waking up at midnight and refusing to go back to sleep. We have BARELY had to get up in the middle of the night over the past year! So on the few nights that he did wake up crying, we had gotten so lazy we just brought him into bed with us....thinking nothing of it. Well, the little man must have taken a liking to our bed because now he isn't satisfied until we give in and let him sleep with us. I am not sure I would be too upset about it if he would actually sleep when he does come in our bed! He is usually very restless and rolls around until he decides it is time to wake up at 5 or 6. This has been going on for about a week...and mommy is grouchy when she doesn't get enough sleep, so tonight we begin our mission to break this habit! We have researched some good strategies and hope to have him back to normal in a couple nights.

Pizza Night

Tonight we had a blast making our own pizza. Ryan was a huge fan so this is something we are probably going to do much more often!

The best snow day ever!!

I normally HATE snow, but today was AWESOME!! We all got the day off and had so much fun! Ryan absolutely loved the snow! He did great and didn't seem to mind the cold at all. We played for a little over an hour and then came inside to warm up with some hot chocolate.

Today was an exciting day for us! First, I got my haircut and I love it! Then, Ryan went pee pee in his potty for the first time!! It was totally unexpected! He seemed interested in it, so Jimmie asked him if he needed to go pee pee and helped him get his clothes off and everything. When he got up he was saying pee pee and pointing in the potty. We were SHOCKED when we saw it in there!

We are supposed to be having a snow day tomorrow so that should be exciting too!

We got Ryan a little potty this weekend! We may be a little late in getting one, but he has caught on to it pretty well so far. You could tell that he was really excited to have his own potty! He was saying pee pee and potty and he would sit on it and then get up and close the lid. Next thing I know he had gone poo poo in his diaper while sitting on the potty! I was so proud! Hopefully this is a good sign for how potty training will go!
